Anton O. Svinin

My research program focuses mostly on biology of amphibians from Northern Eurasia. I’m interested in Evolutionary Biology, Molecular Ecology, Cell Biology and Parasitology.

Currently, I'm examining the unique morphological anomalies in amphibians also known as the “anomaly P” caused by Strigea robusta, a highly pathogenic parasite species for amphibians.

Our overarching mission is to better understand the evolution, ecology of infectious disease in the global climatic changes, evolution and ecology of host-parasite relationships, genetic diversity and phylogenetic of North Eurasian amphibians and reptiles, amphibian skin bacterial communities, their functioning and changes through genetic and metagenomic data.
